PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 1994 - 6:30 P.M. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation <br /> Committee held their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 1, 1994 <br /> at the City Hall. Chairperson Dixon called the meeting to order <br /> at 6:34 p.m. Present: Drilling, Reisdorfer, Larson, Navin and <br /> City Council Liaison Wilharber. <br /> MEETING MINUTES: <br /> Motion by Navin, second by Larson to approve the May 4, 1994 <br /> meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously. <br /> APPLICANTS FOR PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE VACANCY: <br /> Carol Zoff Pelton <br /> Carol Pelton was asked to explain why she wants to be on the Park <br /> and Recreation Committee. She pointed out the great amount of <br /> work ahead regarding the Comprehensive Park and Trail Plan. She <br /> feels seven members will be beneficial to the City. <br /> Committee member Drilling explained that she will not be <br /> available to the Park and Recreation Committee, September through <br /> January. However, she wouldn't mind staying on the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee given the fact she would not be available <br /> during September through January. <br /> Richard Thompson <br /> Rick Thompson explained why he would like to be on the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee. He stated that he would like to serve the <br /> City residents in some capacity. Mr. Thompson said he has a <br /> family and would like to be involved. <br /> Various members asked Rick Thompson about his feelings on the <br /> various functions of the Park and Recreation Committee members. <br /> Paul Palzer, Public Works Director /Building Inspector. <br /> Paul Palzer, Public Works Director /Building Inspector, introduced <br /> himself to the Park and Recreation Committee. <br /> a. Field Maintenance. <br /> Committee member Navin pointed out the maintenance concern on the <br /> Central Park fields. Soccer games are held on Tuesday and <br /> Wednesday, therefore, the fields should be mowed by Tuesday p.m. <br /> Both the baseball and soccer fields need to be mowed more <br /> equally. <br /> Various committee members then explained that maintenance issues <br /> are not the responsibility of the Park and Recreation Committee. <br /> Committee member Reisdorfer stated that it is hoped that we can <br /> work together as a team. <br />
