PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br /> SATURDAY, MAY 8, 1993 - 9:00 A.M. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Park and Recreation <br /> Committee of the City of Centerville held a special meeting on <br /> Saturday, May, 1993 at 9 :00 a.m. at the City Hall. The purpose <br /> of the meeting was to discuss the Acorn Creek Development Park <br /> Land Dedication. Chairperson Dixon called the meeting to order <br /> at 9 :05 a.m. Present: Drilling, Navin, Reisdorfer. Absent: <br /> Larson. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee discussed the Acorn Creek <br /> Development as related to whether the City should take 3.7 (10 %) <br /> acres or 2.7 acres plus $12,000.00 in park dedication fees. <br /> Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to recommend to the City <br /> Council the taking of all land, 3.7 acres, with the following <br /> assumptions: <br /> 1. The land will not be divided by a road; <br /> 2. The land will be usable land, no low land or trees; <br /> 3. The land is to be graded and seeded by the Developer; <br /> 4. A road is needed for access to the park for maintenance <br /> and emergency access, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> OTHER: <br /> Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Navin to direct City Staff to <br /> write a letter to the Centennial Little League Association <br /> directing them: <br /> - that they are required to put a deposit down for keys <br /> to the restrooms; <br /> - the restrooms are to be kept open during all their <br /> • <br /> games; <br /> - they will be responsible for locking the restrooms at <br /> the end of the day; <br /> - mention that people are urinating outside and this is <br /> against the City and Department of Health rules; <br /> - if it is not done immediately the City will be forced <br /> to revoke use of the fields, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Navin, second by Drilling to direct Committee member <br /> Drilling to order the playground equipment for the second phase <br /> of the Water Tower Park; <br /> - Committee member Navin is to look into the sand and <br /> asphalt path; <br /> - Committee member Reisdorfer is to handle the timbers, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br />
