MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA <br /> HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3, 1993 <br /> AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Park and Recreation <br /> Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting <br /> on Wednesday, March 3, 1993 at the City Hall. Chairperson Dixon <br /> called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. Present: Drilling, <br /> Larson, Navin, Reisdorfer, City Council Liaison Helmbrecht. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Dixon to approve the February 3, <br /> 1993 meeting minutes, AYE - Reisdorfer; AYE - Dixon; AYE- <br /> Drilling; AYE - Larson; ABSTAIN - Navin, motion carried. <br /> APPEARANCES: <br /> ,Tim Warnest and Paul Montain - Centennial Little Teague <br /> Mr. Jim Warnest and Mr. Paul Montain representing the Centennial <br /> Little League appeared before the Park and Recreation Committee <br /> to express the following concerns about the softball fields and <br /> their usage. <br /> - the Centennial Little League needs both fields four <br /> nights a week; <br /> - they have 70 teams (over 1,000 players); <br /> - they want the Park and Recreation Committee to <br /> reconsider their decision to allow Kelly"s Korner use <br /> of the fields two nights per week. <br /> Chairperson Dixon asked about the Rice Lake School fields. <br /> Mr. Warnest responded that they are approved for one field at the <br /> Rlce Lake School. <br /> Committee member Drilling asked what the other cities have <br /> committed to the Centennial Little League for fields. <br /> Mr. Warnest responded that Circle Pines has committed 100 %; <br /> Lexington - 100 %; and Lino Lakes - 75 %. <br /> Committee member Drilling asked if weekend games could be a <br /> possibility. <br /> Mr. Warnest responded that this is an option, yet not desirable. <br /> Tom Dario, 1573 Peltier Lake Drive, was present. Mr. Dario <br /> explained that as a parent he was uncomfortable about having his <br /> kids travel a distance to play ball. <br />
