City of Centerville Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday, September 12, 138(3 <br /> KUfre✓ <br /> Present: Dixon rle Smith Paschke <br /> LeTendre Council Liason <br /> There was no old business. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Steve addressed the problem of vandalism at the Park Building. <br /> It seems that there are several roof vents broken and missing, <br /> which need to be replaced. Motion by LeTendre that the vents be <br /> replaced as soon as possible to avoid possible damage to the <br /> inside of the building as well. Motion seconded by Smith, and <br /> carried. <br /> • <br /> The committee discussed beginning work on the sewer at Central <br /> Park. It was noted that only SI200 is available at this time. <br /> LeTendre noted that this amount should be sufficient to rent <br /> machinery and begin digging. Motion by Smith to begin digging <br /> and constructing thgg�,��s�gwer, completing only as much as 31200 will <br /> allow. .Second by TUTi motion carried. <br /> Dixon noted that its time to begin thinking about winter again, <br /> and about who will be available to be rink attendants. We'll <br /> need to hire attendants soon. `lotion by Paschke to table <br /> discussion until some of last year's attendants can be notified <br /> and an inquiry of their interest can be made. Second by <br /> LeTendre, motion carried. <br /> Discussion continued regarding the Park Usage Fees, as decided <br /> upon by the P &R Committee in past meetings. Mayor Haberman is in <br /> disagreement with these fees, and though the P &R Committee <br /> believes that the decision previously made was well thought out <br /> and decided upon, Paschke made a motion to table this discussion <br /> until more extensive information can be gathered pertaining to <br /> past agreements that were written, past residential complaints, <br /> and estimates on what the cost would by', if various damages would <br /> happen to occur. Motion seconded by Tod ill.., motion carried. <br /> Installation of a phone at the Central Park facilities is needed. <br /> Dixon discussed the possibility of getting a phone line extended <br /> from City Hall. It was noted that the telephone would be placed <br /> in a locked room and would be for emergency- use only. Discussion <br /> and motion tabled until more information from City Clerk can be <br /> obtained. <br /> Discussion regarding the possible park development in the <br /> Acorn /Center Hill Development took place, with LeTendre stating <br /> his opinion that 1O% of this land is too little to be usable for <br /> park space.
