Park and Recreation Committee August 9, 1988 Meeting Minutes Presents Steve Dixon Carol Pelton Steve Appel Cindy Paschke Gerard LeTendre Walt Newmann, Council Liaison The meeting was called to order at 7103 p.m. Members of the audience, Kent and Lori Sandahl, request that a fence be erected to keep balls from hitting their house. The Sandahls live on the north side of Royal Meadows Park. P & R will consider putting a fence on both sides of the Royal Meadows Park starting at six feet in height tapering down to two feet in height from the end of' the lot lines to the ten foot road setback. Total feet of fence estimated for Royal Meadows Park is 187 feet. After the correction of the date from June 14th to July 14th, Appel made the motion to accept the minutes as written, Dixon seconded, unanimously accepted. When reviewing the City Council minutes from July 13th, there was discussion about page 7 regarding the pumphouse and the transmitter. Paschke made the motion to recommend to the City Council to move to approve the additional 8'X8' building if necessary per the City Engineer on the condition that a restroom is included in the building for park use, seconded by LeTendre, unanimously accepted. On page 9, regarding the fire truck, P & R supports the City Council's bid for the fire truck. In the July 27th City Council minutes on page 2, with the discussion of the Clearwater Creek crossing, P & R suggests that City Council consider a pedestrian crossing if the project goes through. A report was given by the Treasurer upon which a question regarding the satellites came up. According to the Treasurers report, P & R has been billed twice for the month of June. P & R requests that the City Clerk check into this. P & R also requests that the City Clerk zerox the check stubs and receipts for the hockey rink, and give them to Carol Pelton. P & R would like to thank Steve Appel for all the time and effort he has given as Treasurer of' P & R. A report was given on the progress of the hockey rink at Central Park. Several items discussed to be considered in the near future is to have the P.O. from the City Clerk when getting lighting bids for tax free materials ,• P & R is to inquire to see if the interest is there to sustain us through building the warming house this fall, the warming house is to be studied by the City Engineer and the City Inspector to make sure it is up to code, after the lights are put in at Central Park, the Ro -So building will be moved in, and that the receipts from the building has to be separate from the rink as the building is not under the grant.
