Park and Recreation Committee <br /> August 9, 1988 Meeting Minutes <br /> Presents Steve Dixon Carol Pelton <br /> Steve Appel Cindy Paschke <br /> Gerard LeTendre Walt Newmann, Council Liaison <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7103 p.m. <br /> Members of the audience, Kent and Lori Sandahl, request that a fence <br /> be erected to keep balls from hitting their house. The Sandahls <br /> live on the north side of Royal Meadows Park. P & R will consider <br /> putting a fence on both sides of the Royal Meadows Park starting at <br /> six feet in height tapering down to two feet in height from the end <br /> of' the lot lines to the ten foot road setback. Total feet of fence <br /> estimated for Royal Meadows Park is 187 feet. <br /> After the correction of the date from June 14th to July 14th, Appel <br /> made the motion to accept the minutes as written, Dixon seconded, <br /> unanimously accepted. <br /> When reviewing the City Council minutes from July 13th, there was <br /> discussion about page 7 regarding the pumphouse and the transmitter. <br /> Paschke made the motion to recommend to the City Council to move to <br /> approve the additional 8'X8' building if necessary per the City <br /> Engineer on the condition that a restroom is included in the building <br /> for park use, seconded by LeTendre, unanimously accepted. On page <br /> 9, regarding the fire truck, P & R supports the City Council's bid <br /> for the fire truck. In the July 27th City Council minutes on page <br /> 2, with the discussion of the Clearwater Creek crossing, P & R <br /> suggests that City Council consider a pedestrian crossing if the <br /> project goes through. <br /> A report was given by the Treasurer upon which a question regarding <br /> the satellites came up. According to the Treasurers report, P & R <br /> has been billed twice for the month of June. P & R requests that <br /> the City Clerk check into this. P & R also requests that the City <br /> Clerk zerox the check stubs and receipts for the hockey rink, and <br /> give them to Carol Pelton. <br /> P & R would like to thank Steve Appel for all the time and effort <br /> he has given as Treasurer of' P & R. <br /> A report was given on the progress of the hockey rink at Central Park. <br /> Several items discussed to be considered in the near future is to <br /> have the P.O. from the City Clerk when getting lighting bids for <br /> tax free materials ,• P & R is to inquire to see if the interest is <br /> there to sustain us through building the warming house this fall, <br /> the warming house is to be studied by the City Engineer and the City <br /> Inspector to make sure it is up to code, after the lights are put in <br /> at Central Park, the Ro -So building will be moved in, and that the <br /> receipts from the building has to be separate from the rink as the <br /> building is not under the grant. <br />
