Park and Recreation Committee <br /> June 14th, 1988 Meeting Minutes <br /> Present: Carol Pelton Cindy Paschke <br /> Steve Appel Carol Fritchie, Council Liaison <br /> Steve Dixon <br /> Members of the Audience: Gerald Rehbein, Developer <br /> Orville Hughes, Public Works Director <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. Steve Appel made <br /> the motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Steve Dixon, <br /> unanimously accepted. <br /> Park and Recreation Committee reviewed the City Council minutes, and <br /> request that they be given a site plan for Peterson's Old Homestead <br /> Addition, lot 4, to enable them to specifically site the replacement <br /> trees. P & R recommends that the City Council make a decision on <br /> the water tank, and that the P & R Committee would be willing to go <br /> up to $500 toward the purchase of a water tank. P & R also <br /> recommends that when there is an appropriate quorem that Central <br /> Park be rezoned. The warming house donated by Ro -So was discussed, <br /> and P & R requests that they get a receipt from them. <br /> Gerald Rehbein, Developer of Rehbein Estates, stated that he would <br /> prefer to give money for the park dedication fee rather than land <br /> for his development south of Main Street. <br /> Steve Appel made a motion to recommend to the City Council regarding <br /> Rehbein Estates south of Main Street, that they request the outlot <br /> and Lake Aire's property directly south adjoining the outlet, to be <br /> purchased by the developer, to make up the park dedication fee of <br /> 10 %. The land would need to have road access, and brought to an <br /> acceptable grade with top soil. Motion seconded by Steve Dixon, <br /> unanimously accepted. P & R stated that in the future, the land <br /> under the power line could be obtained for future trailways to <br /> connect the City's parks. <br /> Steve Dixon made a motion to purchase for $ 40 an eight foot picnic <br /> table from Orville Hughes to be secured at the Royal Meadows Park <br /> with the condition that if the table starts to be destroyed, it <br /> will be moved to City Hall, seconded by Steve Appel, unanimously <br /> accepted. <br /> P & R discussed the condition of the old hockey rink, and it was <br /> decided that it would be left as is until the soil conditions permit <br /> the Public Works Director to brace it. <br /> P & R unanimously decided that a memo will be sent out to the <br /> Fire Commission requesting that they consider letting P & R use <br /> their water facilities for the '88 -'89 season in the event that the <br /> new facilities could not be complete in time. <br />
