Park and Recreation Committee Minutes <br /> March 9th - 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: Carol Felton Steve Dixon <br /> Cindy Paschke Steve Appel <br /> Tom Wilharber, Council Liaison <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> Dave Lutz, from the Chief Soccer Association, requested the use <br /> of the soccer field at Central Park. The field would be used <br /> from April 15th to the end of July, Monday through Thursday, from <br /> 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mr. Lutz stated that the agreement would <br /> be the same as last year. He also requested a second satellite <br /> to be placed by the soccer field, and questioned whether the <br /> ball field fence could be raised to ten feet to prevent balls from <br /> going to the soccer field. <br /> Appel made a motion to accept the P & R's minutes from last month's <br /> meeting, Paschke second, unanimously approved. Upon reviewing the <br /> P & Z minutes, P & R asks for a reply regarding the plat copies <br /> designated for P & R. Several items pointed out in the February <br /> 24th minutes of the City Council were the park dedication fees, <br /> Article 2, and that proposals or requests should be given to the <br /> Council in a separate format from the minutes. <br /> Dixon made the motion to allow $1000 from the budget for the <br /> Summer Recreation Program and the Recreational Specialist, <br /> but that P & R would like to designate $500 to just the Recreational <br /> Specialist if possible, Appel second, unanimously approved. <br /> Paschke made a motion.nto request a second satellite out by the <br /> soccer field for three months from May through July, with <br /> P & R paying for one month, and the Chief Soccer Association paying <br /> for the other two months, Appel second, unanimously approved. <br /> The 1988 budget was amended, and Pelton will type them for the April <br /> meeting, ixon made a motion to accept the budget, Appel second, <br /> (16.41 nc -1 v <br /> accepted. <br /> Appel made a motion to request that the City Clerk move the $15,000 <br /> in savings to a six month or three month money market depending on <br /> the information LeTendre receives from the Lions regarding their <br /> availibility of cash, Dixon second, unanimously approved. <br /> P & R requests the City Clerk to find out if the Summer Recreation <br /> Fee has been paid for this year yet. <br /> Appel made a motion that if the City Council goes ahead with the <br /> City Hall project, P & R will appropriate up to $200 for trees to <br /> be planted in Royal Meadows Park, Dixon second, unanimously approved. <br /> Enclosed is the guideline to the move to Central Park. <br />
