Park and Recreation Committee Minutes March 9th - 7:00 p.m. Members present: Carol Felton Steve Dixon Cindy Paschke Steve Appel Tom Wilharber, Council Liaison The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Dave Lutz, from the Chief Soccer Association, requested the use of the soccer field at Central Park. The field would be used from April 15th to the end of July, Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mr. Lutz stated that the agreement would be the same as last year. He also requested a second satellite to be placed by the soccer field, and questioned whether the ball field fence could be raised to ten feet to prevent balls from going to the soccer field. Appel made a motion to accept the P & R's minutes from last month's meeting, Paschke second, unanimously approved. Upon reviewing the P & Z minutes, P & R asks for a reply regarding the plat copies designated for P & R. Several items pointed out in the February 24th minutes of the City Council were the park dedication fees, Article 2, and that proposals or requests should be given to the Council in a separate format from the minutes. Dixon made the motion to allow $1000 from the budget for the Summer Recreation Program and the Recreational Specialist, but that P & R would like to designate $500 to just the Recreational Specialist if possible, Appel second, unanimously approved. Paschke made a motion.nto request a second satellite out by the soccer field for three months from May through July, with P & R paying for one month, and the Chief Soccer Association paying for the other two months, Appel second, unanimously approved. The 1988 budget was amended, and Pelton will type them for the April meeting, ixon made a motion to accept the budget, Appel second, (16.41 nc -1 v accepted. Appel made a motion to request that the City Clerk move the $15,000 in savings to a six month or three month money market depending on the information LeTendre receives from the Lions regarding their availibility of cash, Dixon second, unanimously approved. P & R requests the City Clerk to find out if the Summer Recreation Fee has been paid for this year yet. Appel made a motion that if the City Council goes ahead with the City Hall project, P & R will appropriate up to $200 for trees to be planted in Royal Meadows Park, Dixon second, unanimously approved. Enclosed is the guideline to the move to Central Park.
