• Park & Recreation Meeting
Tuesday, September 16, 1986 7:10P.M.
Present: Larry Koch Leon L'Allier
Carol Pelton Maureen Asleson
Absent: Floyd Kruger Lloyd Welk
Meeting called to order. We welcomed Frank Zimny who attended our meeting.
Minutes of August 12, 1986 meeting first paragraph should be corrected to
read "Dan Tourville" rather than "Tom Tourville ".
Leon informed us the Council has approved a 1987 Budget for Parks &
Recreation in the amount of $11,700.,00. The Council moved to have any
monies left over in 1986 Parks & Recreation Budget, be held over into
1987. Discussion was tabled to next meeting concerning adjusting our
proposed budget of $15650.00 to our final approved Budget of $11,700.00.
The petition from LaMotte Drive was discussed. Je feel the parking problem
has been confronted, at least by Centerville. Larry and Carol will check
into some of the other surrounding communities to see how the alcohol
permits are handled. Once we have this information we will make recommen—
dations to the Council.. Those present felt gam to 9pm would be considered
normal Park hours. Tournament hours would be listed on the permit, so
that any violation of permit hours would become a police matter. Our
recommendation to Council to limit the frustration of neighbors would be
a more detailed permit stating rules and regulations as well as times.
We also suggest a copy of the permit be given to the Police Department
so they are aware of "what" is :permitted by these groups in the park..
We also wish to express our appreciation to the Planning and Zoning Commission
of Centerville for their suggestions and recommendations to the resolution
for regulations for authorizing the issuance of temporary non — intoxicating_;
malt liquor licenses. We will certainly consider these in a final write
up of the Park Ordinance.
Larry suggested we look into the future possibility of having an access road .
and parking lot off Centerville Road. This may help eliminate the amount
of cars on LaMotte.
We will ask Debbie to make copies of the Rink Attendant job description
for our next meeting on October 14, 1986. A notice will be put in the Quad
as well as a announcement at school for interested Rink attendants to come
to our next meeting at 8pm.
