MINUTES FROM THE CENTERVILLE PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING OF NOVEMBER 07, 1991 <br /> Steve called the meeting to order at 7:08 p. m. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Neil moved to accept the minutes from the last Park & Rec meeting, Steve <br /> seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Nite Golf; Jerry reported about the Nite Golf Tournament. Jerry felt that <br /> certificates would be in order for all businesses contributing gifts. City <br /> employees would be requested to the printing (calligraphy) of the <br /> certificates. <br /> Ice Rink Equipment; There was a brief discussion concerning the sweeper for <br /> cleaning the ice rinks. Jerry moved that Dry purchase the "like new" <br /> sweeper for $500. Neil seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Two interested applicants for the ice rink attendant positions appeared <br /> before the committee, Earl Smith and Doug Peterson. Phone numbers are 426- <br /> 4860 and 429 -7370, respectively. The committee indicated they would note <br /> their interest and contact them at a later date concerning a formal <br /> application. <br /> Further discussion on the subject of hiring rink attendants ensued after <br /> Earl and Doug left. Since Doug does not turn 16 until early January, the <br /> committee would like the city clerk to advise concerning laws regarding <br /> employment of minors under the age of 16. <br /> Neil made the motion for the city to advertise for the position of the rink <br /> attendants (including cable channel). Senior Citizens would be encouraged <br /> to apply. Jerry seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The Park & Rec concession stand at the tree farm was discussed. Mike <br /> voiunteerad to rnordinate the function. Jerry moved that Mike be <br /> responsible for the annual tree tarm fuud stand. Neil seconded the motion. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Chairman Dixon reported on the situation concerning the hockey rink lights. <br /> Rivard Electric has been contacted to assist in repairing these lights. <br /> More information concerning cost will be forthcoming. <br /> Discussion moved to the subject of a recently broken window in the warming <br /> house. Jerry moved that the committee study the feasibility of installing <br /> security lights at the warming house. Neil seconded the motion. Motion <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> Neil moved to close the meeting at 8:50 p. m.
