MEMO Date: September 28, 2000 To: Chairperson Porter Parks and Recreation Committee From: Jill Lien Re: Planning for the Informational Meeting for Parents and Youth for a Skate Park / BMX Track Included in your packet is are sample flyers I have created for you to review, and also to distribute at both the elementary and middle schools. The colored copies would be hung at the local convenience stores and around the town, while the black and white copies would be distributed at the schools. I have spoke with Principals, Jerry Meschke of the Centennial Middle School and Kathy Millington of Centerville Elementary School. Both have given permission to distribute flyers with the children. The Middle School will require 1630 copies, while the elementary school will require 977. At 2600 copies, it will cost the Parks and Recreation Committee approximately $70 - $100 for black and white copies. If you would like the copies on colored paper, it will run approximately $125 - $150. If you would like colored print on white paper, it will run approximately $2,000. One thing the committee should consider, is that if we distribute 2600 flyers, will there be enough room in the council chambers to accommodate even 1/4 of the flyers distributed? Do we need to make additional arrangements with the school district if there isn't enough room here at City Hall? We will need to establish the date, time, location, printing fees and time - frames, etc. Thank you!
