residents of Centerville. The committee would like to present options for a skate park <br /> and/or a BMX track within the City. They would also like to see what other types of <br /> activities the residents would like to see offered for the youth. The committee requested <br /> Ms. Lien to contact the elementary and middle schools to see if the Parks and Recreation <br /> Committee could distribute a flyer to the kids at school to give to their parents. Ms. Lien <br /> Y g P <br /> will also create a sample flyer for the committee to review. The committee will select a <br /> date for the informational meeting at the October Parks and Recreation meeting. <br /> Eagle Park Sanitation Unit / Standards for Satellites <br /> A) Letters from Keith Okan and Council Member Nelson <br /> B) Relocation of Satellite at Eagle Park <br /> Ms. Lien explained a letter that was sent to Council Member Nelson by Mr. Keith Okan <br /> (1841 Center Street) regarding the satellite at Eagle Park. Mr. Oaken requested the <br /> satellite be moved to another location from where it is currently located abutting his <br /> property. Council Member Nelson responded with a letter to Chairperson Porter <br /> requesting a response after the Parks and Recreation Committee could address the <br /> situation. After discussion, the committee made the following motion: <br /> Motion by Mr. Peterson, second by Mr. Porter to move the satellite at Eagle Park <br /> from location number three on the proposed map to the open area within the trees <br /> by location number four. Porter, LeBlanc, Peterson and Walter — aye. DeVine — <br /> abstained. Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Porter will send a response letter to Council Member Nelson. <br /> C) Council's Request for Satellite Standards: <br /> The committee discussed establishing standards for satellites, and came up with the <br /> following standards. <br /> 1. Preferably natural barrier <br /> 2. Unit to be anchored to ground <br /> 3. Handicap accessible <br /> 4. Servicing within 10 — 15 feet of a accessible roadway or path <br /> 5. Five foot setback from property line <br /> Motion by Mr. Walter, seconded by Mr. LeBlanc to recommend to Council the <br /> standards for placing satellites at the parks within the City. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> D) Current On -Site Sanitation Contract <br /> The committee discussed the current On -Site Sanitation contract, and determined that <br /> next year the Parks and Recreation Committee would like to put the satellite rental out to <br /> bid for the lowest quote. <br /> 6 <br />
