Council Member Broussard Vickers inquired how far from the back of Mr. <br /> McDowell's lot the building would be positioned. Mr. McDowell said he <br /> believed it was approximately 70 or 80 feet from the property line. <br /> Mr. March noted the public hearing on the five -year tax abatement is scheduled <br /> for October 11, 2000. <br /> Mayor Wilharber inquired as to how many employees Mr. McDowell planned to <br /> add with the expansion. Mr. McDowell stated five (5) or six (6) within the next <br /> five (5) years, depending on business. <br /> Mayor Wilharber questioned the amount of off site business being combined in <br /> the expanded facility. Mr. McDowell stated approximately seventy (70) percent <br /> of the business would be combined and the other portion would remain at that site <br /> due to rail transportation conveniences. <br /> V. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> The following changes were requested by Council: Page 2, fourth paragraph <br /> change "Ramsey County" to "Anoka County", Page 22 change "QUAD meeting" <br /> to "QUAD Community Press ", Page 20, eighth paragraph beginning with "Mr. <br /> Palzer indicated" change the paragraph to read: "Mr. Palzer indicated there <br /> would be new regulations forthcoming regarding lots of one (1) acre or more and <br /> Council wanted to comply with the upcoming regulations." Also in the same <br /> paragraph change "Rice Creek" to "MPCA ". <br /> Motion by Council Member Sweeney, seconded by Council Member Travis <br /> to approve the September 13, 2000. City Council Meeting, Minutes with the <br /> noted chances. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> VI. PAYMENT OF CLAIMS <br /> The City of Centerville September 14, through September 27, 2000 <br /> City Attorney Hoeft discussed a pending case before the Minnesota Supreme <br /> Court he is arguing and has been preparing for. The case is a DUI case in which <br /> the drivers vehicle was forfeited and storage costs were incurred. The person <br /> whose vehicle was impounded is attempting to get the City to pay the storage <br /> costs of $6,000. City Attorney Hoeft noted that his most recent billings included <br /> additional time due to these circumstances. <br /> Page 6 of 12 <br />
