Jim March
From: Jim March [march @goldengate.net]
Sent: Friday, March 10, 2000 4:17 PM
To: Wayne LeBlanc; Tom Peterson; Theresa Brenner; Ray Devine; Michelle Moser; Mary Capra; Lori
Dom; Linda Broussard Vickers; John McLean; Jim Hoeft; Elizabeth Scheller; Doug Porter; Dave
Kilian; Brian Hanson; Terry Sweeney; Mari Nelson; Dick Travis
Subject: Week in Review
Week in Review
March 10, 2000
Building Permits this Period = 0
Building Permits YTD = 11
New Homes Year to Date = 5
This weds in Centerwlie history....
• I spoke to Mr. Robin Cole on Wednesday of this week. Mr. Cole and a partner are
planning to open a restaurant and catering business in the old House of Chu. They have
signed the lease papers and plan to open on April 1. They will be calling the business R &
K Cafe and Catering. They plan to serve breakfast and light lunches.
* The future owners of the old LaMotte Store are very excited to begin renovating the
building. The future owners are closing on the building next week Wednesday. The
owners plan to completely renovate the interior and exterior of the building. I had an idea
that I communicated and had approved by the new owners. I phoned North Metro
Telecommunications Commission (local cable channel) to ask them to do a documentary
from start to finish on rehabilitating an old commercial building. They liked the idea and will
be contacting the future owners. This would be a great way to promote downtown
revitalization. The future owners have also started a petition this week to ask the City to
begin planning for water extension and streetscape enhancements. This is very exciting
news. A letter will be going out to all of the downtown property owners next week to remind
them to come to the downtown theme workshop that is being sponsored by the EDC
committee on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:00.
• Interviews will be conducted next week on Monday for the Account Clerk 11 part-time
position.
* I have arranged to present the purchase agreement to Dick Hubers for the Eagle
Trucking building next week on Tuesday morning.
• Paul Palzer and Tedd Peterson attended a water seminar this week. Public works is
3/13/00
