MEMO
Date: March 29, 2000
To: Chairperson Michael Navin
Park and Recreation Committee
From: Jill Lien
Re: Concrete in Ice Rink
Mr. Peterson and Mr. Palzer both questioned if the Park and Recreation Committee
has ever considered pouring concrete in the ice rink. If concrete were poured, it
would create a base under the ice which would be easier to flood and would ensure
a smoother surface on the ice. It could be constructed so that when the concrete is
poured, spickets or hoses could be installed around the rink for flooding. Also, this
would bring a place where youth could roller - blade, skateboard, etc. in the
summer. Please take a moment to consider and bring your thoughts to the meeting.
Thank you!
