Wayne LeBlanc
1677 Peltier Lake Drive
Centerville, MN 55038
651- 426 -0168 home
651- 635 -6519 work
wayne.leblanc @unisys.com
February 2, 2000
City of Centerville and Parks and Recreation Committee,
Please accept this letter as an application to join the Parks and Recreation Committee if an
opening in that committee occurs.
I believe I can help the Parks and Recreation Committee and the City of Centerville in a number
of areas. I have been involved in clean water issues, parks, trails, and Design Team activities. In
1987, I established the Peltier Lake Association and have been very active in trying to improve
water quality and other related environmental factors in the area. I was a member of the Rice
Creek Watershed District Advisory Committee for a number of years. I generated the spark that
brought about a Clean Water Partnership $90,000 study of Peltier Lake and Centerville Lake that
involved the Rice Creek Watershed District and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. I was a
host for a member from the Minnesota Design Team visit to Centerville. I participated in Design
Team activities and enjoyed their presentation and feel they have some good ideas that are
worthy of pursuit. Some of these ideas may work, others may not, but the potential for
Centerville is so great, that many of these ideas are worth a try. In the past, I have worked with
the Rice Creek Watershed District, Anoka County Parks, the Metropolitan Council, the St. Paul
Water Utility, Lino Lakes, Centerville, Hugo, the Department of Natural Resources, the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and others. I understand something about how these
organizations work and hope that coordination of goals and activities, not only in Centerville, but
in surrounding communities will be possible.
My motivation is strictly the improvement of Centerville for the people of Centerville.
Centerville is already a great community, but with its location to the Twin Cities, adjoining lakes,
and wonderful County park, it has the potential to be even better.
I look forward to serving the community. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Wayne LeBlanc
1
