City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 13, 2010 <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz reviewed the background information, stating the report was <br />informational and no action was needed. <br /> <br />City Council thanked Staff for their time and work on this report. <br /> <br /> <br />3.EAA-Young Eagle Rally Letter of Support <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to approve <br />EAA-Young Eagle Rally Letter of Support, to be drafted by Staff, for their <br />participation in the Centerville Lions Fishing Contest. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />4.NATOA Letter of Support <br /> <br />Mayor Capra reviewed background information. She stated she would like Planning and <br />Zoning to review the Federal Regulations sometime in February 2010, to see what the <br />impact on City ordinances would be. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to <br />approveNATOA Letter of Support. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Finance Director, Mike Jeziorski <br /> <br />City Finance Director Jeziorski reported that he applied for the 2010 CDBG grant, which <br />he reminded the City Council, is the grant that would help to fund about 25 residents to <br />hook up to the City water supply and that Staff should know the status by the middle of <br />February. He also stated the December financials are still in progress and it is planned to <br />present to City Council in February. He stated the PCA Grant, which was submitted a <br />few months ago, is still pending due to State budget cuts. He lastly mentioned that the <br />audit pre-meeting was postponed until Wednesday, January 20, 2010. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Parks and Recreation, Mayor Capra <br /> <br />Mayor Capra reported on Parks and Recreation, stating the first skate night would be <br />Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and that there would be a horse drawn <br />hayride, popcorn and hot chocolate, as well as a bonfire. She also stated there are <br />preliminary talks of putting up a volleyball court at Laurie LaMotte Park in between the <br />skate park and the play equipment. She stated Parks and Recreation is also focusing on <br />the 8K event that is scheduled for August 7, 2010. She stated she would ask Staff to have <br />a preliminary talk with Parks and Recreation regarding the volleyball court, its location <br />and the use of pea gravel to reduce the cost if necessary, noting that the cost really is not <br />that significant. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br />
