Planning and Zoning Minutes of July 9, 1996 Mr. Nyberg stated that if you impact wetlands you generally have to replace them at a 2 to 1 ratio. Regarding the traffic issues, Mr. Nyberg stated that it has been a long term goal to have Centerville Road develop to the north at a 9 ton road. Bonnie Larson, 1724 Peltier Lake Drive, experiences a lot of traffic from Waterworks -- drinking and driving and not aware of children. Ms. Larson stated that no thought has been put into developments in Centerville and this proposal is not ideal for this property. Tourville stated that the city will grow and doesn't feel comfortable putting up gates to keep development out. Norm Fritchie, 1637 Peltier Lake Drive, stated the traffic issue needs to be addressed. Don Moe, 1740 Peltier Lake Drive, stated the locals use Peltier Lake Drive as a cut across and also Lino Lakes residents use it to get to 35E. He also works on the fire departments and stated it is difficult to get through because of the large volume of children in the area. Need to look at the big picture -- what is best for Centerville as a whole. Mr. Buckbee stated he has a 13 acre parcel that was originally platted to have 22 homes and would like to see less density in Centerville. Would recommend not going to R2A anywhere in Centerville and would rather see R5. Ms. Ebsen said that traffic is one issue but what about crime with the limited police coverage that Centerville has. Bill LaLonde, 1687 Westview, believes it to be premature for the community and also made the comment that nobody said anything about the schools. He stated that he would not turn over his property and it would be a severe legal battle if Centerville Road was ever extended. Mr. Goertz stated he is only here with a proposal and the residents may have legitimate concerns but ultimately it affects the Hensels. The comp plan shows townhomes. .. ... Cynthia LaBlanc, .1677. Peltier Lake Drive, would recommend not allowing Centerville . Road to go through. Theresa Brenner stated she has been involved in the comp plan update and the city has held town meetings and she encourages residents to attend the public hearings. She stated she would've like to see a moratorium on development during the updating of the comp plan. Brenner finds it frustrating to look at developments while re-doing the comp plan. She also advised the residents to call her or city staff if they have any questions.
