<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JULY 1, 1997 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of <br />Centerville held their regular meeting and a public hearing on July 1, 1997 at City Hall. <br /> <br />PRESENT: KathyWelk <br />AI LaMotte <br />Linda Broussard. Vickers <br /> <br />ABSENT: Tina Vermeulen <br /> <br />STAFF/CONSULTANTS: Ry-Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br />Jim March, City Administrator <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Kathy Welk opened the public hearing to discuss a new light industrial zoning <br />district on a property owned by Gerald Rehbein. Mr. March stated the proposed lot sizes are too <br />narrow for Casanova, Inc.'s ideal building and parking plan. Mr. Gary Hugeback (Integrated <br />Realty) requested approval of the new zoning district. Mr. March reported that an area Realtor <br />called City Hall and voiced concern granting less restrictive requirements for smaller business <br />since several large companies are looking at the Centerville area. Ms. Gaustad reported no <br />correspondences or calls have been received by the City in regards to the public hearing. <br /> <br />There were no further comments on the issue. <br /> <br />MOTION by Ms. Broussard-Vickers to close the public hearing. Motion seconded by Mr. <br />LaMotte. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Public Hearing closed at 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Action on the Light Industrial Zoning District <br />MOTION by Ms. Broussard-Vickers to make recommendation to the City Council to approve <br />the light industrial district with the changes outlined in the public hearing posting, including the <br />permitted and principal special uses as discussed during the June 3, Planning and Zoning meeting. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. LaMotte. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
