This is a very old park tha.t doesn't offer a lot, adding the whole <br /> park should be updated. She suggested purchasing same type of pla.y struciure instead of <br /> a slide. She showed several pictures of play structures running from $Sk and up from the <br /> GameTime catalog. It was the consensus of the Park and Recreation Committee to <br /> update Royal Meadows Park with a new play structure instead of a slide. The committee <br /> gave Ms. DeVine the authority to price pla.y equipment up to an amount of $lOk (give or <br /> take $1,000). <br /> Mr. March suggested that the City could include the Royal Meadows Park in the LaMotte <br /> Park grant. Some of the fees (i.e.: fiber, pea rock, border, etc.) could come out of the <br /> LaMotte Pazk grant. <br /> TRAIL (LaMotte Park) <br /> Mr. LeBlanc stated that there are three traals he would like to see the City pursue. One is <br /> to connect to the Anoka County Tra.il — south west of LaMotte Park. The second is the <br /> proposed trail going through the proposed Parkview (Second Addition) development, , <br /> which runs from Centerville Road to 20`" Avenue. The third is connecting all three trails I <br /> somewhere in LaMotte Park. � <br /> Mr. March commented that it most likely will not be a 3-way intersection of trails in <br /> LaMotte Pazk. He felt it would be nice to run the three trails through the ball fields to the � <br /> center where there could potentially be a concession stand. '�, <br /> Update on the Woods of Clearwater Creek '' <br /> Mr. Palzer stated that he spoke with Mr. Tra.vis regard'mg completion of the trail in the <br /> Woods of Clearwater Creek development. Mr. Travis stated he is waiting on the , <br /> approval of the elevations from the Rice Creek Watershed District. Mr. Palzer requested <br /> that once the approval is in, that Mr. Travis install the class five for a sub base for the <br /> trail. Mr. Palzer also has a ca.11 into Mr. Tony Brough of the RCWD on the status. 'I <br /> Grants <br /> Ms. DeVine offered there are seven grants offered by the DNR. She would like to see the <br /> City apply for two of the grants. The first is the Outdoor Recreation Grant, which is a <br /> 50% match with the City. This grant is designed to increase and enhance outdoor <br /> recreation facilities, and is due by March 31�'. The second is the Trail Linkage Crrant <br /> which is also a 50% match with the City. This grant is designed to connect significant <br /> recreational resources, and is atso due by March 31 �. <br /> Mr. March mentioned that the City has already been awarded the Trail Linkage Grant for <br /> LaMotte Park, but hasn't requested the funds yet. Mr. March suggested applying for the <br /> Outdoor Recreation Grant for Royal Meadows Park and LaMotte Park together. <br /> Mr. Palzer suggested that the Park and Recreation Committee install a trail connecting <br /> Royal Meadows Park to Brian Drive, and another trail cutting across from Fox Run to <br /> 4 <br />
