UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> Firearms Ordinance <br /> Mr. Mazch informed the Council of the changes suggested by the attorney and the <br /> Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> Mr. A1 LaMotte spoke against the lot size limit for shooting bow and arrows. <br /> Councilmember Sweeney stated that he is against the lot size limit for bow and arrows and �, <br /> the discharging of BB guns and would vote against this ordinance if the sections were not � <br /> removed. <br /> Council member Broussard Vickers stated that the ordinance is meant to provide safety <br /> for the community. <br /> It was suggested that the City provide a place for the target range. Mayor Wilharber <br /> asked the City Attorney about the liability for the City. <br /> City Attorney Hoeft stated that the liability for the City would be great and the insurance <br /> carrier could provide the coverage, but that it will be expensive because it is considered a <br /> dangerous activity. <br /> There was discussion about a non-profit sports club and if the City wanted to contribute to <br /> the running of a range, then the liability would be removed from the City. <br /> Mr. March stated tha.t if the ordinance passed he would contact Anoka County about the <br /> possibility of establishing an archery range in the County park. <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
