Regional Park Grant Program <br /> Information Sheet - 2001 Application Cycle <br /> Program purpose To increase and enhance regional outdoor recreation facilities in areas outside the seven <br /> county metropolitan area. <br /> How it works Provides state granis to pubtic regional pazk organizations outside of the seven county <br /> metropolitan area for up to 60% of the cost of acquisition, development and/or redevelopment <br /> of regional pazks. <br /> Eligible applicants Public regional park organizations outside of the seven county metropolitan azea. <br /> Eligibleprojects Eligibleprojectsincludeparkacquisitionand/ordevelopmenUredevelopmentofregionalpark <br /> ' facilities including, among others, trails, picnic facilities, boat accesses, fishing piers, <br /> swimming beaches, campgrounds, playgrounds, and design and engineering (zna�cimum of �' <br /> 10% of total project costs). Contact the Grants Manager with questions about other eligible <br /> facilities. � <br /> I <br /> � Minimum Project proposals must have a total project cost of at least $40,000. Significant progress must <br /> requirements be completed on active projects before an additional proposal can be submitted. l i <br /> Program Funding A maximum of 60% of the total eligible project costs. Applicants must be able to fund at I <br /> least 40% of the total project costs. Costs must be incurred and paid for before � <br /> reimbursement can be made. Applicants are eligibie to receive more than one grar�t. � <br /> Grant awards The Department of Natural Resources will review and rank applications during the spring <br /> of 2001. Grant awards will be announced in the summer of 2001. ! <br /> Project period Funded projects must begin promptly after an agreement has been completed between the <br /> S[ate and the applicant. All components of the project must be completed by December 31, <br /> 2003. <br /> To Apply To receive an application, please submit an A.pplication Request Form. We recommend <br /> that the Application Request Form be submitted before January 31, 2001.
