OLD �UNINESS Follovv-up an Infar�naxionai Meeting ft�r Skate Park/Bl'vIX Track The general consensus of the committee was that the Informational Meeting was a great success. Ms. Lien reported that there were over 40 people in attendance. Additionally, most of the youth and their pazents expressed interest in a skate park over a BMX track. Mr. Peterson comment�d that per��a.ps the Lions Club would be willing to donate some of their c�aritable gambling proceeds towards the funding of a skate park. Ms. DeVine commented about the property behind C' a location for a park. After diseussion, the committee felt there we ` s ty concerns related to the fire hall and parking lpt. The committee e�ected to e 4ther areas within the city and make the skate park a goal for �he year 2001. Proposed Trail Man — Review Map from En�ineer The Parks and Recreation Committee reviewed the proposed trail map provided by Dan Schluender (Bonestroo) a.nd wer� very pleased with the results. The �ommittee would like to see the addition af all po�nds (shaded in b�ue) indicated on the map. 1VIs. Lien will submit the request to Mr. Schluender. Tree Piacement at Parks Mr. Porter explained that most of the trees have been planted at the parks. There is on�e tree that the committee would like to see moved at Traeie MeBride Park that is too close to the power lines. Approximately 30 trees have been planted, with the balance to be p}an#ed in the spring. 2
