C`NTERVILLE ECC�CMIC DEVELCPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTEB <br /> TUESDAY AUGUST 17, 1993 <br /> � <br /> Pursuant to due ca'1 and notice thereof, the C2nterville Ecanamic <br /> Qevelopment committee held their regular meeting on Tuesday, <br /> August 17, 1993. Chairperson Rehbine called the meeting to arder <br /> at 7:12 p.m. Present: Hubers, Sanbarn, Tourvi77e, Council <br /> member Brenner. Mayor Buckbee arrived at 7:20 p.m., Committee <br /> member Montain arrived at 7:23 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF JULY 27 1993 MINUTES <br /> Motiorr by Hubers, second by Tourville to approve duly 27, 1993 <br /> minutes. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> F�OOD PLAIN UPDATE <br /> Council member Brenner expressed that the Foad P1ain project has <br /> been put on hold as far as the Ctty COt1RCi� is concerned but that <br /> was due to culvert installation on Peltier �ake Drive/Mill Road, <br /> creek level toa high and DNR c7earanca. Mayor Buckbee informed <br /> the committee that $30-50 thou�and have been spent on the project <br /> and agreed that the delay has been due to culvert issues on <br /> Peitier Lake Drive and Mill Road. Mayor Buckbee and Council � <br /> member Brenner agreed that to move forward with this project is � <br /> very impartant. Committee member Tourville expressed that ' <br /> development has been held up becau.�e the flaoc! plain project has I � <br /> been moving so slow. Committee member Hubers would like the City ! <br /> Council to provide an update of the project ta the Economic �� <br /> Deve7apment Committee. � <br /> i <br /> STAR CITY UPDATE �I <br /> Councii member Brenner stated that the commit�ee now has 11 �� <br /> members, 4 of them new members recruited through City Celebratian <br /> booth. Committee member Montain asked if tt�ere was any wor4c that <br /> could be dane by Ecanamic Development members in relation to the <br /> surveys that were taken at the City Celebration, which were a <br /> great success. <br /> The budget for the Star City project discussed. The amount of <br /> money needed is at least $5,300 which will come f ram an unknown <br /> source st th;s time. There is $2,000 availahle f rom the Cable <br /> T.V. fund is needed. This money is neecled ta praduce 3 f3Ct <br /> book7et, video, etc. All things required by program to become a <br /> Star City. There are also SCORE funds avazlab7e if "recyc�zng" <br /> is mentianed in booklet, video, etc. <br /> Council member Brenner requested g135 f'rom the Economic <br /> Development Committee far two Star City members to �hare ane <br /> registra�ian spat at a weekend �Xarkshop. <br /> Motion by Hubers, second by Mantain to grant Star City memberJ <br /> $135 to attend workshap.
