Motion carried unanimouslv. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS A Letter from Resident l��r. TV1arc�� shared a letter the city received fram a resident regarding mailbox maintenance. The resideni requested the city maintain group maiiboxes after installation. Currently, surrounding -- property owners are required to maintain the mailbox unit after installation. The Council discussed how involved the placement and maintenance of mailboxes could be for the Cit_y, The post of�'ice suggests communities install group mailboxes, however, it is not mandatory. , Councilmember Buckbee commented, for the $25.00 cost of installation, the city should ensure the mailbox stand is structurally sound. Mayor Wilharber suggested the city explore the cost for the newer aluminum mailbox stands. Mr. March commented public works suggested staying away from maintaining the stands. The Council requested Staff research maintaining mailboxes, and to inform the citizen the City is looking into the request and then report back to the Council. 2
