Furthermore, EDC requested <br /> the Councils recommendation. <br /> Councilmember Buckbee and Brenner warn�d that the award recipient should be considered from <br /> everyone who has contributed to the Community at any time in history, not necessarily a <br /> committee, commission or council memi�er or the award may not serve its purpose of recognizing <br /> an outstanding volunteer. Mr. March suggested broading the base of voting members, developing <br /> new applications, and accepting new nominations. Then electing a recipient in January and <br /> awarding the dignitary during a Council meeting. <br /> Councilmember Buckbee moved to table the business and citizen �erson of the 1998 vear until <br /> Januar.� 1999 to allow Staff to redevelo� the nomination a�lications and g,uidelines. <br /> Councilmember Brenner seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> Council and Staf�'Chairs <br /> Mr. March indicated to the Council that Hunt furniture dropped off several model chairs for <br /> purchase consideration. Mayor Wilharber commented that Cit_y Staff need new chairs since the <br /> current chairs are in poor conditioin and may be hazardous. <br /> Mavor Wilharber moved to a�rove Staffto choose what cotor and stvle of chair the� need and , <br /> then to purchase the re�uired amount of chairs Councilmember Buckbee seconded the motion <br /> Motion camed unanimousl� <br /> Ma�or Wilharber moved to order the required number of black chairs for Council. <br /> Councilmember Buckbee seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Ma Wilharber informed the Council that the Potice Department had interviewed for a Police <br /> Officer vacancy and they plan to make the final selection after background investigations are <br /> completed. <br /> ADMINISTRATORS REPORT <br /> Holida�O�fice Ifours <br /> Mr. March addressed the Council and requested Friday, after Thanksgiving, as a paid holiday for <br /> the non-union employees. The Council concurred its intent is to treat the non-union employees <br /> comparabie to union employees. <br /> Councilmember Buckbee moved to a.�nrove non-union (Administrative� em�loyees to have FridaX <br /> off with �av Councilmember Brenner seconded the motion.
