CITY OF CBNTSRVILLS <br /> PARR AND RSCREATION CONIl�IITTSB <br /> JTTN'S 24, 1997 <br /> PRESENT : S. BROWN, R. THOMPSON, M. NAVIN <br /> � ABSENT . K. FOGARTY, D. LARSON <br /> STAFF . J. MARCH <br /> A public hearing was duly scheduled and called to order by <br /> Chairperson R. Thompson at 7:00 P.M. <br /> A brief overview of the proposed layout for the development of �, <br /> LaMotte Park was given. I <br /> J. March gave a presentation on Anoka County's plan to develop <br /> the Rice Creek Regional Park. The County provided a visual aid I <br /> that showed how their paved tra.ils could interconnect with the <br /> trails in LaMotte Park. The County is proposing to upgrade the I <br /> regional park in an amount of approximately $1.7 million dollars. I <br /> I <br /> Mr. Bob Barett (6953 Centerville Road) was present to discuss his I <br /> concerns with the development. Mr. Barett was in favor of the I <br /> park being developed. He stressed that he would like to see the I <br /> parking lots paved with asphalt as soon as possible to help keep I <br /> dust down. He also was concerned with the weeds currently i <br /> growing on the property. I <br /> i <br /> Mr. Ben Henrich (6945 Centerville Road) was present to listen to <br /> the plans to develop the park. He indicated he was in.favor of <br /> the project. He was glad to see the land used as a park, instead <br /> of a residential development. <br /> Motion made by M. Navin to adjourn the meeting, seconded by R. <br /> Thompson.
