May 19, 1997
To: Park and Recreation Committee
From: Paul Palzer
Re: Hockey Rink
Dear Committee Members:
,
I recently spoke with Kevin Fogerty in regards to the condition of the hockey rink at
LaMotte Park. The rink experienced severe frost action this last season and
approximately half the rink will have to be dismantled in order to reset the posts in the
ground. Kevin informed me tha.t there has been some discussion about possibly moving
the rink to the new park on Revoir Street_ If this option is being seriously considered, I
would like some direction as to whether the public works department would be involved
with its removal or assembly.
If the rink is to be moved, I would like to meet with the Park and Recreation Committee
and discuss its location, warming house facilities, City water for floodin, parking
improvements and lighting concerns. t also would like to know what other activities are
being considered for this park so I can staff the public works department accordingly. ,
Please let me know how to proceed with the rink repairs/relocation so I can schedule this
activity for this s mmer.
Sincer `
Paul
Public Works DirectorBuilding Official
