4
' October, several of the Parks and Recreation members and City Staff have been
' questioned by youth as to the sttus of the skate park.
The consensus of the comrraittee at this time is not to include the skate park on the grant
application. The City will not know if it is approved for the grant until late summer,
which means the youth wouldn't be able to use it much, if at a11, this year. The
Committee doesn't want to wait until then to begin construction of the skate park, they
want to begin construction/paving right away in the spring for use this suminer.
' Mr. Roger Barrett (6953 Cnterville Rd.) questioned the status of the temporary road
nnning from Centerville Road to LaMotte Drive at the edge of the park. Mr. Barrett
commented that there is a steady flow of people using the road, and was interested in
knowing if it would be removed. Additionally, should the gates be open or closed?
Mr. March mentioned that there weren't any plans as of yet for removal of the road.
Thre is a pssibility of converting it to a small paved trail. Either way, th gates should
be clased, and no vehicles should be using the road. Mr. March will check into it with
the Public V6orks Department.
Mr. March questioned the xesidents specifically on eenterville Road as ta their feelings
on the ball field lights. Specifically, are they a nuisa.mce, or vould they be, if more were
added?
NIr. Peterson and Ms. DeVine concurred that thexe hasn't been any discussion related to
purchasing addiional lights, but there has been discussion related to how much electrical
amps should be run, for futuxe possibilities. Mr. Peterson stated it would be best to get as
much amps ut to the filds s possible, to avoid going back and re-doing later. That
would be much more costly.
Mr. Tom Wilharber (6849 Centerville Rd.) commented that sometimes the lights are left
on all night long. He also agreed with Mr. Peterson and Ms. DeVine that it would be
better to run whatever electrical axnps you may want in the future now, rather than the
gassibility of having to tear it up and r-do it, should the Comtnittee decide to add
additional lights.
Mr. Ben Henrich (6945 Centerville Rd.) requested a trail be created off of Center Street
nnning behind his house.
Mr. Lelanc questioned if there was an easement behind Mr. Ienrich's house that a trail
I ' I M
i could be glaced upon. Spifically, he mentind running a tral from the Hunters
i Crossing Development to Meadow Lane, which vvould keep the youth off Centerville
i Road.
Mr. Wilharber (649 Centervile Rd.) questioned the status of purchaing the Church
prpperty just north af LaMotte Park.
2
I
