APPROVED <br /> PARI�S AND RECREATION <br /> C4MMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> July 10, 2001 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Parks and Recreation Committee of the City <br /> of Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on July I0, 2001, at City Hall, 1880 <br /> Main Street. Chairperson Doug Porter called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m <br /> Present: Chauperson Doug Porter <br /> Karla DeVine <br /> Tom Lee <br /> Brian Walter <br /> Kathy Peil <br /> Absent: Wayne LeBlanc <br /> Tedd Peterson <br /> Sta� Jill Lien '� <br /> � <br /> APPEARANCES � <br /> Mr. Chaymus Klang (7162 Mill Road) and Mason Wurscher 7132 Gra Heron Drive II ' <br /> � Y ) � <br /> appeared before the Parks and Recreation Committee to request permission to ha.ve ', <br /> several bands play for four to six hours at one of the parks in town. Mr. Klang explained I <br /> that several youth have started bands, and they ha.ve no pIace to play. They are looking I <br /> for this to be a half-day event, where potentially hundreds of kids will come to listen to ', <br /> their music. The style of music is somewhat compazable to what you would hear on 93X, I <br /> which is hard rock/metal. Mr. Wurscher commented that he works for A to Z Rental, and '� <br /> he can get a stage, tent, lights, cables etc. for free. Their coneerns were if there was a <br /> need for any type of permits required, security issues, or any other concerns the Parks and <br /> Recreation Committee may have. They were hoping to have this event sometime in mid <br /> to late August, during the daytime hours. <br /> After discussion the Committee e�ressed concerns over the following issues, and <br /> requested Ms. Lien follow-up on the same: <br /> l. Noise Permit <br /> 2. Police Department <br /> 3. Fire Department <br /> 4. Satellites <br /> 5. Clean-up <br /> 6. Liabilities — League of MN Cities — Special Event Coverage <br /> } <br />
