May 23, 2001 Council Meeting Minutes Motion bv Council Member Nelson, seconded by Council Member Capra to approve the May 9, 2001 Council Minutes as amended. All in favor. Motion carried � unanimouslv. VI. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS None. VII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. VIII. OLD BUSINESS 1. Downtown Revitalization Timeline Mr. March stated that the item was placed on the agenda to establish a timeline for the project. Mr. March desired that Council arrange a meeting with property owners to inform them of the City's proposed changes and to forwards letters to them regarding same. - Mr. Peterson stated he had sketched a timeline and if the City desired to commence constxuction this year, Council would need to schedule meetings to review the scope of the project, costs, and determine whether to bond for the project. Mr. Peterson stated that Council would need to approve plans at their June 13 meeting in order to commence the bid and construction process by August. Mr. March stated that it may be possible to bond for both the 21 Avenue project and this project. Mayor Swedberg directed Staff to forward a letter to residents concerning the downtown revitalization project. Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, second by Council Member Ca�ra to schedule a work session on June 12, 2001, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the downtown revitalization project. All in favor. Motion carried unanimousl� 2. Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Im�rovements Mr. Peterson stated that the bid opening was May 22, 2001 for this project and Vinco, Inc. was the lowest bidder at $136,480.29. Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, second b,y Council Member Ca�ra to award the LaMotte Memorial Park electrical contract to Vinco, Inc. in the amount of $136,480.29 to Vinco, Inc.
