Chairperson lloug Porter called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The <br /> meeting time was modified to accommodate interviews. <br /> Present: Chairperson Doug Porter <br /> Wayne LeBlanc <br /> Karla DeVine <br /> Tedd Peterson <br /> Bria.n Walter <br /> Linda Broussard Vickers (Council Liaison) <br /> Absent: I ! <br /> I <br /> Sta.ff: Jill Lien <br /> � <br /> I <br /> INTERV�WS <br /> Ms. Lien had sent vnvitations to the following candidates who had expressed interest in I <br /> filling the vacancies on the Parks a.nd Recreation Committee: Tom Babcock, Bill Bisek, <br /> Tom Lee and Kathy Peil. The informal interviews began at 6:00 p.m. and each were � <br /> allowed 15 minutes with the Committee. � <br /> i <br /> APPEARANCES ' <br /> Satellite at E �le Park <br /> The following residents appeared before the Parks and Recreation Committee to express <br /> their concerns over the placement of the satellite at Eagle Park: Tom and Mary Johnson <br /> (1829 Voyager Ct.), Russ and Pat I;ucas (1833 Voyager Ct.) and Janice Hackman (7034 <br /> Dupre Rd.). <br /> Mr. Johnson e�lained that he and his wife were very displeased with the placement of <br /> the satellite at Eagle Park. He stated it is an unwelcomed addition to the neighborhood, it <br /> is a visual eyesore, it diminishes property values, it's too far away from the playground <br /> equipment, and the odor and appeazance diininish the quality of the neighborhood. He <br /> requested the Parks and Recreation Committee look to other alternatives for placement of <br /> , the satellite (i.e.: other side of path, additional pathway to another location, closer to the <br /> i center of activity, etc.).
