Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Grant <br /> Mr. March stated that Staff would be assembiing the fmal grant application package the <br /> following day for submission. <br /> Council recessed at 7:40 p.m. <br /> Council reconvened at 7:45 p.m. <br /> 7. Turcotte Purchase Agreement <br /> Mr. Hoeft stated that the only modifications conta.ined in the draft Purchase Agreement <br /> was not limit the purchase agreement to a specific time frame as had been done <br /> previously. The price remains at $139,000. <br /> Council Member Capra questioned whether Mrs. Turcotte desired to live there until she <br /> found another place to live. Mr. March stated Mrs. Turcotte had indicated she would be <br /> accepted into the facility she desires to enter at any time. Mr. March stated that he had <br /> mentioned to her, that at some point in time, the City would want a specific date when <br /> she would be moving out and she seemed to understand. <br /> Mayor Swedberg requested that Mr. March give some background on the Turcotte <br /> property. Mr. March explained that the Turcotte property is located at 7073 Centerville <br /> Road and is a duplex that has had numerous structural additions. Mr. March stated that <br /> the property abuts the old Public Works site and acquiring same would be an asset for <br /> downtown revitalization of the entire block. , <br /> Mr. Hoeft requested that Council direct Staff to enter into negotiations with Mrs. <br /> Turcotte. Mr. Hoeft stated that subsequent to an agreed upon sale price, Staff would <br /> forward the agreement to Council for approval. <br /> Council Member Nelson requested that a typographical error in the purchase agreement <br /> be corrected. Council Member Nelson questioned the use of the $139,000 purchase price <br /> when the home and property were appraised at $138,000. Mr. March stated that Mrs. <br /> Turcotte expressed desire to sell the property for $139,000. <br /> Mr. DeVine questioned whether a public hearing was required to purchase the property. <br /> Mr. Hoeft stated that Council would not; however the Economic Development Authority <br /> (EDA) would need to. <br /> Consensus was to direct Staff to enter into negotiations to purchase the Turcotte property. <br /> 8. Council Communication <br /> Council Member Capra stated that she discovered the a letter from Mr. March to Mr. <br /> Buechler had inrlicated it was copied to Council but that she had not received it.
