♦ <br /> 3 <br /> The Parks and Recreation Committee would like the City Council to recognize these <br /> figures provided through the receat audit as eurrent Park Funds. <br /> Skate Park <br /> Mr. Peterson explained that he was at a conference put on by the League of Minnesota <br /> Cities on Tuesday, and Skate Parks were a major topic of discussion at this conference. <br /> Discussions related to Tier I parks confirmed what we had already know regarding <br /> helmets, kneepads, height of equipment, etc. Mr. Peterson confirmed tha.t the hockey <br /> boards aze adequate for "fencing". Signage will need to be addressed. Mr. Peterson will <br /> follow-up on the insurance issues and will also contact SunRamp Solutions for a list of <br /> Cities he can contact for references. <br /> Motion by Mr. Porter, seconded by Mr. LeBlanc to recommend to City Council to <br /> accept Requests for Proposals (RFP's) for laying concrete in the ice rink at Laurie <br /> LaMotte Park, per the engineers specifcations. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> The Committee opted to refer to the "Skate Park" in the future as a"Wheels Park". � <br /> Motion by Mr. Peterson, seconded by Ms. DeVine to accept Requests �or Proposals <br /> (RFP's) for equi�ment/ramps for a future Wheels Park at Laurie LaMotte Park. I <br /> All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. l <br /> Comn�'ehensive Plan Amendment � <br /> Ms. Lien explained that she had provided each member a copy of anything related to I <br /> Parks and/or Parks and Recreation areas in the Comp Plan. Mr. March ha.d requested that , <br /> each of the members review it and make any changes or recommendations prior to the <br /> meeting. He is looking for the Parks and Recreation Committee to specify exactly what <br /> they want amended in the Comp Plan. Ms. Lien requested that any changes or <br /> recommendations be forwarded to her as soon as possible. She will compile them and <br /> then forward to NIr. March. <br /> Earth Dav <br /> The Committee confirmed the plans for the Earth Day activitie : . Peterson will <br /> purchase. �`�.i�d trash bags while Mr. Walter will purchase es. All will be placed <br /> at both parks and City Hall. The festivities will begin at 9:00 a.m Volunteers can meet <br /> at City Hall, Royal Meadows Park or Tracie McBride Park. Mr. Porter will be at Royal <br /> Meadows Park, Ms. DeVine and Mr. Walter will be at Tracie McBride Park, Mr. <br /> Peterson will be at Laurie LaMotte Park and Mr. LeBlanc will be at the Wargo Nature <br /> Center with a table set up on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Committee. Ms. DeVine <br /> will talk to Mr. Magiil from Corner E�ress to see if he would be willing to donate the <br /> use of his sign to the Parks and Recreation Committee for advertising for volunteers. <br /> Committee Member Vacancies <br /> After discussion, the Committee elected to conduct interviews at the meeting in May. <br /> Ms. Lien will set up the interviews in 15-minute intervals with a start time of 6:00 p.m. <br /> 3 <br />
