Aviation <br /> Centerville is not within any influence area of an airport within the regional airspace <br /> system. A.s stated in the Background Conditions, the closest airport is Anoka County- <br /> 7anes Field in Btaine, approximately nine miies west of the City. Centerville is identified by <br /> �- <br /> the Metropoiitan Council as a City potential�y impacted by seaplane base activity. The City <br /> will cooperate with the Minnesota Department of Transportation regarding activities that <br /> may have potential impact on seaplane operations and will notify the agency of any <br /> proposed structures exceeding 200 feet. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION ELEMENT <br /> Local Parks <br /> �- The City adopted a Park and Pedestrian System Comprehensive Plan in 1989, which <br /> provides goals, a needs assessment, concept plans and operations and maintenance , <br /> information related to the local park and trail system. That document and this Plan are �, <br /> intended to serve as a basis for decisions regarding future implementation of the City park I <br /> " system. � <br /> I <br /> There are currently six City parks, as discussed in the Background Conditions section of i <br /> _ i <br /> this Plan. As the City continues to grow, new park locations will need to be identified and � <br /> existing parks developed. The Growth Management Plan (Figure # 11) shows general <br /> locations for new parks and trails in the areas planned for future development, which may <br /> be considered in addition to those identified in the Park and Pedestrian System <br /> Comprehensive Plan. Prior to development occurring in these areas, the City will work <br /> with developers to identify the specific locations best suited to providing the public <br /> amenities and recreational facilities needed to serve these areas. Within the ar.�a seived by <br /> City utilities, ideally, all residential development should be within a half mile of either a <br /> neighborhood or community park.. <br /> The City's subdivision reguIations will require the dedication of park land or cash in lieu of <br /> land in conjunction with the subdivision of all lands.
