Mr.
, Peterson questioned if there was a financial cantribution made by the CHA, or, more
specifically, is there a contract or obligation that the City has to this league? The
' Cvmmittee concurred that the Ciiy doesn't have any type of contract or legal obligation
tfl the CHA.. Mr, Peterson explained that at the end vf each night, the rink attendants
request tlat the kids that have used the rink tbat day help clean the rank edges off. The
local youth that use the rink are always villing to help, since it gives them a sense of
I ownership. The CHA isn't williug to help maintain the rink, and in fa.ct left one of the
rink attendants feeling bad when he had requestd their assistance. Mr. Peterson
erpressed his concerns tha.t the local youth aren't able to use the rink for three hours a
day, three days a week due ta the CHA using the rink for hockey practiae. If the CHA.
doesn't have a financial con#rihution to the rink, and thy aren't willing to help maintau►
the rink, why do they have priority over the rixk? Mr. Porter offered to contact the CHA
to discuss the agreement and responsibilities involved with the use of the rink.
2
