All in favor. Motion <br /> carried unanimouslv. <br /> III. PUBLIC HEARING (S) <br /> 1. Lloyd Drilling <br /> Mayor Swedberg opened the tabled public hearing from the previous meeting at 6:10 <br /> p.m. <br /> Mr. Drilling submitted drawings of the site plan for the proposed strip mall to be located <br /> at 1873 Main Street. The site plan showed the exterior colors of the building. Mr. <br /> Drilling also submitted a picture of a sample fence to be used to house the garbage <br /> receptacle. Mr. Drilling stated that the fence is to he chain link with screening. Mr. <br /> Drilling also stated that the trailway would be built to County specifications as requested <br /> by Council. <br /> Mr. Drilling explained he would like to build a three (3) foot berm rather than the <br /> previously discussed four (4) foot herm to aid in drainage and maintenance. There would <br /> be a six (6) foot fence on top of the berm. Mr. Drilling expressed willingness to match <br /> the northwest neighbor's fence if the neighbor desires. <br /> Mr. Drilling showed pictures of the trees currently located on the site and indicated if the <br /> County allows, the trees will remain in place; however, if the County requests that the <br /> trees be moved, they will be moved to the northwest corner of the property. If the <br /> County does not allow the trees to stay then five (5) or six (6) foot evergreens would be <br /> installed on the site. Mr. Drilling explained that evergreens are a typical landscaping <br /> tree. <br /> Mr. Drilling stated the building would have an exterior, brick front with metal siding. <br /> Council Member Capra questioned the location of the signs for the busmesses. Mr. <br /> Drilling stated that signage would be located along the front of the building in the three <br /> (3) foot space provided. Signage would be handled similar to that of the current strip <br /> � mall. <br /> Mayor Swedberg questioned the type of signage that would be installed. Mr. Drilling <br /> I � stated that the current strip mall has uniform signage with the exception of the daycare. <br /> Mr. Drilling explained that the type of retailer in the space typically dictates signage, <br /> I � however, all signage would be backlit. <br /> Mr. Peterson indicated Mr. Drilling has met the contingencies for the site plan as outlined <br /> in Mr. Peterson's letter to the City. <br /> � • <br /> Mr. Hoeft indicated final site plan approval needs to be sub�ect to Mr.� Peterson's <br /> approval and subject to an approved Developer's Agreement. Mayor Swedberg indicated <br /> he would like to see deciduous trees placed in front of the building rather than <br /> Page 2 of 14 <br />
