Regional Park Grant Program <br /> Information Sheet - 2001 Application Cycle <br /> Program purpose To increase and enhance regional outdoor recreation facilities in areas outside the seven <br /> county mecropolitan area. <br /> How it works Provides state gtants to public regional park organizations outside of the seven county <br /> metropolitan area for up to 60% of the cost of acquisition, development and/or redeveiopment <br /> of regional parks. <br /> Eligible applicants Public regional park organizations outside of the seven county metropolitan area. <br /> Eligible projects Eligible projects include park acqnisition and/or developmendredevelopment of regional park <br /> ' facilities inciuding, among others, trails, picnic facilities, boat accesses, fishing piers, <br /> swimming beaches, campgrounds, playgrounds, and design and engineering (maximum of <br /> 10% of total project costs). Contact the Grants Manager wiih questions about other eligible <br /> facilities. � <br /> i <br /> . � <br /> Minimum Project proposals must have a total project cost of at least $40,000. Significant progress must � <br /> requirements be compieted on active pzojects before an additional proposal can be submitied. �� <br /> I <br /> Program Funding A maximum of 60% of the total eiigible project costs. Applicants must be able to fund at � <br /> least 40% of the total project costs. Costs must be incurred and paid for before i <br /> reimbursement can be made. Applicants are eligible to receive more than one grant. , <br /> i <br /> Grant awards Tl�e Department of Natural Resources will review and rank applications during the spring � <br /> of 2001. Grant awazds will be announced in the summer of 2001. � <br /> Project period Funded projects must begin promptly after an agreement has been completed between the <br /> State and the applicant. All components of the project must be completed by December 31, <br /> 2003. <br /> To Apply To receive an application, please submit an A�glication Reguest Form. We recommend <br /> that the Application Request Form be subrrutted before )anuary 31, 2001.
