APPEARANCES/AWARDS (Continned) � <br /> Park and Recreation Bud�et <br /> Michael Navin, Pazk and Recreation Chairmar�, presented Council with a proposed budget <br /> for 2000 and the Park and Recreation's goals and objectives through 2002. He explained <br /> that 2000 budget reflects money to be spent to enhance existing resources within the City. <br /> Council member Broussard Vickers indicated that she felt that a survey should be done to <br /> , incorporate citizen preferences. � <br /> Mr. March stated tha.t he spoke with the Anoka. County Parks Director and that Phase II <br /> of the Regionai Park improvements include running a trail from the interior of the regional <br /> park to Main Street on County Road 14, but that probably would not be a reality in the <br /> next five years. He indicated that the Parks Director would try to find out the County's <br /> plan for acquiring property in the area of the home at the end of Main Street. <br /> Mr. Maxch stated that before the City acquires property is to have some type of feasibility <br /> study to find out if it is feasible to build a trail around the lake, where would it go, and <br /> wha.t type of cost etc., would need to be done. <br /> Ma.yor Wilharber and Council member Broussard indicated that ttiey would ]ike to see a <br /> survey done incorporating more than the last survey and to incorporate it with the <br /> newsletter. Mayor Wilharber that the survey should be developed at a workshop with I <br /> Park and Recreation, EDC, and Planning and Zoning to get a survey really complete. <br /> Mr. March stated that maybe some of the City's surplus monies could be used to increase <br /> this budget amount. <br /> Park Budget Increase or Decrease <br /> Council discussed the Parks and Recreation budget and the enterprise fund option that <br /> was presented by Michael Navin at the beginning of the meeting. <br /> Mr. March explained that the Pazk and Recreation goals over the next three years defines <br /> a purpose for the money and that the auditors would probably require a motion at the end <br /> of the year carrying funds from one year to the ne� year. <br /> MotioB bv Council member Sweenev, seconded by Mavor Wilharber to fnnd Park <br /> and Recreation accordin� to the recommendation. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br />
