 ,, r.
DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT ********************************************
To: City of Hugo, Anoka County Parks, City of Lino Lakes, and the Metropolitan Council
From: City of Centerville, Parks and Recreation
Date: October 28, 1999
The City of Centerville is seeking informarion on plans or ideas for future or existing trails in the
surrounding area. Please provide a contactperson, ifpossible, or inform the Citv of Centerville about
any information or other sources of information ov u mav have re a rding trails in your area.
In particular, the City of Centerville is interested in planning a trail system that connects to the Chain
of Lakes Anoka County Park in two ways and connects to the trail that goes through Hugo. Note that
there are pians to develop an extensive trail system in the Chain of Lakes .Anoka County Park and that
these trails will connect to a number of communities and their trails.
Hugo Trail Connection Possibilities
The City of Centerville would like to investigate possibitities in connecting its community with the
Chain of Lakes Park and the Vail in Hugo. A trail connecting Hugo to the Chain of Lakes Park looks
like n for Hugo, a win for Centerville, and a win for the Chain of Lakes Park. The Hugo trail looks
to b a' teresting destination as this trail may extend some distance (Duluth to Saint Paul perhaps),
and the Chain of Lakes Park looks to be an interesting destination as there are resources such as the
Wargo Nature Center, swimming beach, and other activities. ,
Chain of Lakes Anoka Countv Park Possibilities
The City of Centerville has already determined how it will connect to the Chain of Lakes trail system '
on the southeast side of Centerville Lake through its own Lamotte Park. This connection hooks to
other trails in the park that circle half of Centerville Lake. An idea for the future wouid provide for I
circling the rest of Centerville Lake allowing a trail all around the lake. ,
Other Possibilities
There may be plans or ideas on other trails in the surrounding area unknown to the City of Centerville.
This is the information the City is also trying to coliect to try ta plan for the best possible future of all
the people and communities involved.
Citv of Centerville Contact
Please provide a contact person and/or whatever information or ideas you may have. The contact
person for the City of Centerville is Wayne LeBlanc, 651-426-0168, or contact the City of Centerville,
651-429-3232.
Thank you.
Centerville Park and Recreation Committee
2
