Tri-City Police Department <br /> Mayor Wilharber commented in regards to the large portion of the budget that is dedicated to the Police <br /> Department and that it was imperative that the city have representation from the Council and the citizens <br /> on the Tri-City Police Commission. The Councils consensus was that the request is reasonable. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Travis, seconded bY Councilmember Sweene�to approve Mavor <br /> Witharber rec�uest. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Public Works Building Sketch <br /> Mr. Peterson gave a presentation on Bonestroo's experience and ability to construct a new public works <br /> building or to renovate City Hall to suit the needs of the City. Mr. Peterson stated that their architectural <br /> division can do a feasibility study for the City. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded bv Councilmember Broussard Vickers to spend up <br /> to �6,000 for a feasibili stud� Motion carrzed unanimously_ <br /> Mr. March reported that a major investor has voiced an interest in the current Public Works �� <br /> building and area. The proposal is to purchase a large downtown area for redevelopment. <br /> Animal Ordinance <br /> Mayar Wilharber introducecl the League of Minnesota's Animal Ordinance. Ms. Gaustad noted <br /> the Planning Commission met on Tuesday, July 13, to consider the Lea�ues Ordinance. The Commission <br /> reviewed and considered the proposed Ordinance and then made a recommendation. It is recommended <br /> that the Council grant the Planning Commission more time to review the Animal Ordinance to make it <br /> more suitable for this City. In short, the Commission would welcome the opportunity to <br /> give further consideration to the Animal Ordinance and its context. I <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded bX Travis to table the Animal Ordinance until the �� <br /> Planning Commissioa makes a recommendation. <br /> � <br /> Further Discussion: I <br /> Councilmember Broussard Vickers did not favor eliminating citizens from having animals such as boa ��� <br /> constrictors. <br /> Mayor Wilharber added that current reptile owners would have to register at Cit_y Hall. <br /> Nlotion carried unanimously. <br /> �I�dia Relations Specialist Job Description <br /> Mr. March gave a brief synopsis of the Media Relations Specialist job position. Mr. March conf rnled <br /> Mayor Wilharber's c�uestions that the position would take about 7-10 hours weekly. <br /> Mavor W�lharber questioned the hourly amount or associated cost to hire the person. Councilmember <br /> Nelson stated that she would like to see monthly and quarterly City newsletters and a quarterly recycling <br /> newsletter.
