Letter from Mari Nelson re a� rdin�a "Peaceful Park" <br /> Mr. Navin wanted to note receipt of Council member Nelson's letter regarding a"peaceful park". <br /> Mr. Navin questioned if Council member Nelson was referring to the Acorn Creek Park or a <br /> different park. Ms. Fairbrother commented that she had spoke ta Council member Nelson and <br /> was told that Council member Nelson had no intention of the peaceful park being that of Acorn <br /> Creek. <br /> Letter from Rv-Chel Gaustad re�ardin� Newsletter <br /> Mr. Brown offered to submit something to Ms. Gaustad from the Park and Recreation Committee <br /> for the newsletter. The Park and Recreation Committee decided to rotate the task of submitting <br /> something to Ms. Gaustad on a monthly/quarterly basis amongst the members. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Resi nation of Don Bahneman from the Park and Recreation Committee <br /> Mr. Navin mentioned that Mr. Bahneman has resigned from the Park and Recreation Committee. <br /> Mr. Larson suggested the City post the vacancy in the next newsletter, and possibly on the <br /> marque sign in front of City Ha11. <br /> Abrahamson Easement near Acorn Creek Park Pond <br /> Mr. Navir. ad�ressed Ms. Abrahamson re�arding a possi�le easement on her property for children <br /> �o fish in the pond. He explained that the Park and Recreation Committee would like to come to <br /> some kind of resolution with the Abrahamsons regarding children fishing in the pond on their <br /> property. Mr. March confirmed that there is no public property abutting the pond. He also <br /> mentioned that if the Abrahamsons ever wanted to put in a fence, they wouldn't be able to if there <br /> is an easement on the property. Mr. Porter explained that the City is just looking for some way to ' <br /> let the kids fish in the pond. If the City could create a public spot for fishing, this would eliminate <br /> traffic on other peoples property. Mr. Brown added that placing "NO FISHING" signs will , <br /> eliminate kids going all the way around the pond. These kids aren't bad kids - they are just <br /> looking for a place to fish. <br /> I�1s. Abrahamson mentioned that the kids leave a lot of trash and garhage when they leave. How <br /> would this benefit her? <br /> i�1r. Navin responded by t�ilin� her it woutd be for tlle good of the community. Adding tha� the '� <br /> City just wanted to explore it. Mr. Navin offered to stop by the Abrahamson's sometime in the <br /> month of July to discuss it further with both of the Abrahamsons. <br /> Ms. Abrahamson said they would be willing ta discuss it further. <br /> Park and Recreation Vacancv Candidate <br /> Ms. Carla DeVine expressed her interest in filling the vacancy for the Park and Recreation <br /> Committee. Ms. DeVine is also a member of the CNN, but is interested in all aspects of Park and <br /> Recreation. Ms. DeVine will submit a letter of interest before the ne� meeting on August 9` <br /> 5 <br />
