Jun-07-99 09:40A Simply Boakkeeping, Inc. 651 407-9523 P.Ol
FAX COVERSHEET
TO: Park & RCreatiati i FROM: Mari Nelson
, ComIDittee ` OFFICE: 851 447-0908
 PHOl: 429-3232 f F 6SI 407 -9s23
 CeU Phone: 61Z ?O1-4085
 FAI 429-8629 bi umninter.net
DATB; 06/06I99
PAGES ;Including Coversheet}: 1
SUBIECT: Peaceful Park ,
I would like to further commet on my request to the committee for an
"adult theme" park, i.e. peaceful park. i
Mr. Larson's re-title of the name "gazebo" to `'shelter" does not fit the vision j
I hae. Shelter is more for a"family theme" park with BBQ, picnic tables, and
"nothing fancy". The "famity theme" park would work well in connection with the
"children theme" park of Acorn Creek. While we are an the subject, I ha•e heard
comments made in favor of the Acorn Creek Park being a"family theme" park,
such as Mr. Lason is suggesting. I think, the community needs that kind of park
too. A place far the whole family to have fun, cookouts, play grounds, etc. I
understand from some members of the Neihborhood Network Comrnittee (who
were not present at the June 2, Park & Recreation Meeting} would like to meet
with Park & Recreation, as a whole group to talk over the ideas azound the "family I
theme". I
Mr. DeVine (1 S37 Revoir Street) is correct in saying "the adult theme seems !
to vary a lot from what Maxi Nelson is suggesting".
I am requesting a quiet, (yes, fancy) with flowers and gazebo, peaceful park.
Just a smai] meditative park, that's beautiful and peaceful, with a soothing stream
or lake. It's the atmosphere that is essential. Like I've said, we need a place for
adults to go to search out their personal direction. Active young parents who need
a quiet plce to be alone and taik with each other, to plan the direction of the:r
family. Older parents dealing with teen-agers, making life changing decisiors.
,4nd empty nesters to evaluate their life and what comes next. A place for two
friends to sit and talk.
Just a small beautiful place to be in.
