February 20, 1999
.
Centerville Park and Recreation Committee
Michael Navin — Chairperson
1880 Main Street
Centerville, NIN 55038
RE: Acorn Creek Park and Outdoor Recreation Grant Support
To the Park and Recreation Committee,
This letter is in support of developing Acorn Creek Park into a family/children's play
area. One of the reasons that we purchased a home in the Acorn Creek development was
because we were told that the park located at the end of our road was the future home of a
children's play area. We are under the impression that this park may be turned into an
adult retreat type park, and that is not what we are in favor of. Our street alone houses 20
children! This area would serve the residents more being a family park. We would like
to see a play structure, benches and possibly a basket ball court. We are also extremely
concerned with the safety of our children, as well as being in compliance with the
American Disabilities Act.
We live at 1844 Revoir Street, and the proposed Acorn Creek Park is four lots from our
home. We have lived here for almost two years, and currently have an eight-year-old
daughter. Having Acorn Creek developed into a children's park would beneft our '
neighborhood and us.
We feel that we have a great opportunity to make this park a success for a number of
reasons. First of all, by applying for the Outdoor Recreation Grant, we may be able to
create a nice park with the help of State funds. Second, besides ourselves, we have talked
to many neighbors that would be willing to help with the labor issues of the park, and
third by having a park that is family orientated, we create an inexpensive form of family
fun and neighborhood enjoyment. '
Thank you for taking time to listen to our concerns.
Sirc ; i
, r--Z,'., -

` 1_._ /d 1 ! .0 c,2 t Z ? / ,
Tom and Aimee Fairbrother
cc: Honorable Mayor Wilharbor
Centerville City Council
