Historically, we have assumed that the performers have secured the necessary waivers or licenses ta <br /> perform. The ASCAP representative stated that court cases have held the cities are liable if the <br /> performer fails to obtain the appropriate waivers, even if the performer is a�so liable. If we rocure the license, we mi t want to cons de uc g <br /> Y P P � <br /> fees to performers to help offset the cost. <br /> Neither nor I knew how this activity would be budgeted. It may be it should be part of the <br /> Arts Commission annual budget. It could also be a general budget item, considering the Arts <br /> Commission may not be the only entity engaging performers in the City. <br /> I have more information, including brochures and the license text, if you are interested in reviewing it <br /> � <br />
