<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 96-22 <br /> <br />APPROVING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT FOR INTERIM STRATEGY TO <br />REDUCE NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION TO ALL METROPOLITAN WATER <br />BODIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council adopted an Interim Strategy to Reduce Nonpoint Source <br />Pollution to all Metropolitan Water Bodies on October 22, 1992, and required that all local <br />governments, including the City of Centerville, adopt the same Interim Strategy Policy; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rice Creek Watershed District currently reviews development projects and <br />issues permits based on erosion and control specifications, test management practices and NURP <br />standards; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA, that is should and hereby does approve the Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment to adopt an Interim Strategy to Reduce Nonpoint Source of Pollution to All <br />Metropolitan Water Bodies subject to the following guidelines: <br /> <br />1. The City ofCenterville will support the application of the National Urban Runoff Program <br />(NURP) standards for the design of new storm water ponds and the Minnesota Pollution Control <br />Agency (MPCA) Urban Best Management Practices titled "Protecting Water QJ1alit,y in Urban <br />AD:a,a" to the review of any proposed development occurring in the City of Centerville to reduce <br />nonpoint source pollution loading in storm water runoff The City of Centerville will incorporate <br />these standards and requirements in its Storm Water Management Plan and Land Use Controls in <br />conjunction with the Rice Creek Watershed District to implement this policy. <br /> <br />2. The City ofCenterville will prepare and adopt specific amendments to its Storm Water Plan <br />and Land Use Controls by December 31, 1996. The Metropolitan Council will be notified after <br />the amendments have been adopted. <br /> <br />.3. The City of Centerville will continue working with the Department of Natural Resources and <br />Rice Creek Watershed District to adopt the revisedSa.-Land RegulationsCODSistent with the <br />DNR schedule of priorities.
