( I ; CI TY OF CENTERVILLE RESOLUTION RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LORENZ BUS SERVICE, NORTH SUBURBAN LINES, PARTICIPATING IN THE MmNNESOTA DEPAR1.MENT OF TRANS- PORTATION REGULAR ROUTE TRANSIT DEMONSTRATION GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, a regular route transit demonstration program has been enacted by the State Legislature as part of Chapter 454 of the Laws of Minnesota for 1977, and WHEREAS, this program is intended to demonstrate new regular route transit services as well as to improve the utilization of existing regular ~oute transit services, and WHEREAS, Lorenz Bus Service, North Suburban Lines, has applied for and been awarded by Mn/Dot a demonstration grant in order to support the initiation of a commuter express bus service from the area of Blaine, Lino Lakes and Centerville to down- town St. Paul, and WHEREAS, it is the expressed objective of this demonstration program to produce a significant ridership level that will serve to promote the establishment of a regular route transit service and to reduce single occupant auto trips from this general area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Centerville that the City of Centerville gives its full support to the establishment of a commuter express bus service to St. Paul involving Lorenz Bus Service, North Suburban Lines, under a Regular Route Transit Demonstration Grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Centerville will participate in the review of the one-year experience of this transit service to determine its-productivity and desirability for continuation with a possible local subsidy. FURTHER, copies of this resolution should be forwarded to the following: 1. Office of Transit Administration, Minnesota Department of Transportation. . 2. Lorenz Bus Service, North Suburban Lines. J.
