<br />ri 7 <br /> <br />t~ <br />, <br /> <br />...... <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />,', <br /> <br />i <br />i <br />:; <br />41 <br />ti~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR mE D.t!:FERMBNT or SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br />FOR PERSOMS 6 S YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER FOR WHOM I T WOULD BE A <br />HARDSHIP ro MAKE. mE PAYMENTS. <br /> <br />~1 <br /> <br />,,,'J, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the C1 ty Council of the City of Cent.rvill. i8 the <br />official governing body of the City of Centerville, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes authorize the City of Centerville, <br />upon proper application, to defer the payment of special <br />assessments against any homestead property owned by a person <br />65 years of age or older on January 1 of the payment year and <br />for whom it would be a hardship to make the payments, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the deferral of <br />assessments should be granted to any person otherwise qualified <br />who shall make proper application claiming that the annual. <br />principal and interest due on an assessment is in excess of <br />5% of his current annual income and, therefore, a hardship <br />to him. The proper application form shall be provided by the <br />Ci ty. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE I~ RESOLVED by the Centerville City Council <br />that special assessments against any homestead property owned <br />by a person 65 years of age or older for whom it would be a <br />hardship to make the payment be deferred subject to the a~ore- <br />mentioned income upon submission of the appropriate application <br />signed by the qualified person.. <br /> <br />FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the right of deferment is auto- <br />matically terminated as provided under Minnesota Statutes. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that applications for deferments for <br />a particular year must be submitted by O'ctober 15 of the <br />preceding year. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the current Minnesota..l <br />Statutes relative to deferred assessments for senior citizens <br />is made a part of this resolution by reference. <br /> <br />'J. <br /> <br />~ <br />W <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />!j <br /> <br />'1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />"' <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was <br />duly made by Elmer Murray and seconded by Floyd Laska and <br />upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof.
