This project alerts 9 -1 -1 dispatchers <br />when a home has a child with special needs. Imperative personal <br />information regarding the special needs child is entered into Anoka County <br />Central Communication's hazard files. When a call from a residence comes <br />into ACCC, the dispatcher is able to provide officers with a physical <br />description, any medical diagnosis, and address guide to nearby properties <br />with potential hazards, details on how to best approach the child, how they <br />respond to authority, and whether they are verbal or non - verbal. Parent or <br />guardian information is also provided through the dispatch system. All <br />information regarding Project ROCKET is kept on file with dispatch as well <br />as the police department. Sh information need to be updated, it can be <br />changed - by contacting the police department. - This program helps -o <br />minimize certain challenges to law enforcement and emergency service <br />personnel by making responding to calls more efficient. If you have or <br />know of a child with special needs that would benefit from this program, we <br />urge you to contact CSO Austin. <br />Bicycle Licenses <br />The Centennial Lakes Police Department encourages its residents <br />to license their bicycles. Bicycle licenses are issued by the police <br />department at no cost to residents of Lexington, Circle Pines, and <br />Centerville. Licensing your bicycles makes the recognition of recovered <br />bicycles easier, should they get lost or stolen. Several bicycles were <br />abandoned and recovered this past year without licenses. Bicycles that are <br />not claimed after 60 days are sent to auction. <br />Safety Camp <br />Safety Camp is a yearly event developed to increase a child's <br />knowledge and awareness of all aspects of safety. Centennial Lakes Police <br />Department works in partnership with Lino Lakes Police, Centennial and <br />Lexington Fire, and Parks & Recreation Departments to host the event. <br />24 <br />43 <br />
