LCQRDS <br />Records Tech Nancy Noren <br />The Records Division of the Centennial Lakes Police <br />Department consists of an Office Manager, a Records Technician, and two <br />part-time Data Entry Clerks. The primary role of the Records Division is to <br />collect, process, disseminate and maintain Department records in accordance <br />with Federal and State Data Practices laws and Records Retention <br />requirements. This division performs various administrative and support <br />services including: <br />• Providing information and assistance to the public <br />• Data Entry of daily reports and logs <br />• Transcription of interviews <br />• Preparing case files for submission to prosecutors and court <br />• Scanning police records into a Document Imaging System <br />• Notifying officers of court appearances and cancellations <br />• Assisting with the storage, retrieval and disposal of records <br />• Assisting with background checks and criminal history checks <br />• Maintaining the Department's website <br />• Collecting and compiling statistical data for review <br />• Preparing and transmitting monthly crime, property and arrest <br />reports to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension <br />• Assisting with applications for Permits to Purchase handguns <br />• Maintaining a digital image library <br />• Sending a weekly media report to 4 newspapers <br />• Updating Suspense files for the BCA <br />Copies of police and /or accident reports can be obtained from the Records <br />Department during normal business hours for a nominal fee. .Release of <br />impounded vehicles and found property may also be performed by the <br />Records Department once appropriate proof of ownership has been <br />provided. <br />45 <br />64 <br />
