June 24, 2010 <br />Council Worksession Minutes <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION <br />June 23, 2010 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held a worksession <br />following their regularly scheduled meeting on June 23, 2010, at City Hall, 1880 <br />Main Street. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Mary Capra <br />Council Member Linda Broussard Vickers <br />Council Member Ben Fehrenbacher Council Member D. Love �@ <br />Council Member Jeff Paar <br />O <br />ALSO IN <br />ATTENDANCE: <br />CLPD Officer Jason Corlew <br />Bob Cordell — Anoka County Radio Club <br />Shawn Rung — Anoka County Radio Club <br />John Grahek- Park & Rec. <br />I. DISCUSSION: <br />A. Communication: Discussion on the process for communication during the <br />various City events during Fete des Lacs was the main focus of discussion. <br />Mr. Bob Cordell of the Anoka County Radio Club provided a background of <br />their volunteer service within Anoka County. The Anoka County Radio Club <br />will provide both radios and radio communication with volunteers, event <br />organizers, CLPD and Central dispatch during the parade, fireworks and 8K <br />Run/Walk. <br />B. Canoe/Kayak Races: Council member Fehrenbacher provided an update on <br />the Canoe/Kayak Races which will be coordinated through the Anoka County <br />Parks Department — Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park. Council <br />Member Fehrenbacher stated that the information will be included in the <br />Parks & Rec. Summer Events Flyer shortly. <br />C. Fireworks: Mayor Capra provided an update on the fireworks which are <br />scheduled for Friday, August 6 with a rain date of Saturday, August 7 <br />They will be located in Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. <br />D. 8K Run/Walk: Mayor Capra stated Mr. Pat Branch and the Park and Rec. <br />Committee are working on the 8K Run/Walk.
